Tahlequah Community Garden

This past weekend I was able to spent Saturday playing in the dirt with Jehan and Samara at the Tahlequah Community Garden. We removed the weeds from our plot and turned the dirt and mixed in some compost to ensure some nice plants. Once the garden was ready for planting we went to the store and picked up some cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, bell peppers, jalapenos, gourds, and green beans. It was a great day to be outside planting and tending to the garden. Looking forward to the rewards of some fresh veggies in a few weeks. If you are interested in doing your own garden at the community garden please let one of the volunteers know. You can find them on the Tahlequah Community Garden facebook page.

Lent - Final Week

Today concludes the last week of lent. It has been a real eye opener, I have learned that sometimes the small simple things in life can be a big meaning to us. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed standing around the BBQ grilling and enjoying an ice cold adult beverage or maybe that glass of wine with dinner. Over the last 40 days and 40 nights I have managed not to give in proving to myself that I can do something if I want to. Looking forward to the next challenge that I set myself up for.
